A Week or Two Past Revival

Some people llove revival time. Others don’t care for it at all. Every wonder why? I think (actually I’m sure) the reason is the same. The series of meetings that we call Revival is only a part of what is going on in a Church at any given time. Real revival is an act of God that takes place when those who are dead or dying (in relationship to their operating in holiness) are brought to life again. That phenomenon is often accompanied with some folks coming to an initial faith in Christ. Sometimes Churches (a group of people meeting together with like-minded activities) are changed radically, or to some lesser degree, and occasionally everything gets better on the Godliness scale.

And, you see, that is the difficulty. There are those who are open to the Spirit of God and they are reminded (convicted) of the mandatory ingredients of living a life under the control of God’s Spirit. They are renewed in their commitment to pray, learn the Truth, share their Faith, llove their enemies, and their friends and families, and show up at the gatherings of the Body of Christ on a regular and consistent basis. They get refreshed and revitalized. They hear clearly the call of God in their life, they remind themselves of the promise they made to the others who are part of their Church family, and they are quick to get moving toward the goals established by the principles of Truth working effectively in their life.

On the other hand there are those who are not so open to the Spirit of God and they are reminded (convicted) of the mandatory ingredients of living a life under the control of God’s Spirit. They understand that they are to be renewed in their commitment to pray, learn the Truth, share their Faith, llove their enemies, and their friends and families, and show up at the gatherings of the Body of Christ on a regular and consistent basis. They recognize they are supposed to get refreshed and revitalized. They hear clearly the call of God in their life, and they are reminded of the promise they made to the others who are part of their Church family, but they just don’t want to do that; all of it, or any of it.

So some people llove it and others don’t care much for it. Now that the meetings are over (even though the revival continues), ask yourself how you feel about it.
